Led by our skilled and enthusiastic jeweller, students will be guided in safety at the jewellery bench. You'll gain hands-on experience in using various metals, hand tools and the equipment used in the jewellery workshop.
The focus of the course will be on using a jeweller's saw frame to make a pendant, brooch or earrings as well as how to make a ring from sterling silver, brass or copper. Students will learn techniques such as saw piercing, ring forming, soldering, and texturing metal. This workshop is perfect for those interested in trying out jewellery making before committing to a full silver jewellery course.

What will be covered in this 4-week Silver Jewellery Workshop?
- Health & Safety
- Metal cutting, using a jeweller saw frame to saw pierce sheet metal
- Using a torch for annealing and soldering
- Ring sizing
- Ring forming
- Texturing
- Soldering – how to anneal and solder to join the metal together
- Polishing and Finishing – how to file, use emery paper and get the perfect shine
- Basic silver jewellery skills – setting you up for a great start!
