Have you always wanted to learn Spanish but weren’t sure where to begin? This beginner-friendly course offers a clear, supportive introduction to Spanish — no prior experience required.
From your very first class, you'll begin speaking practical, everyday Spanish. You'll learn how to introduce yourself, ask simple questions, and take part in everyday conversations while steadily building your vocabulary, pronunciation, and confidence.
Taught by experienced native Spanish-speaking tutors, classes are interactive, engaging, and designed to help you feel comfortable speaking from the outset. You’ll develop all four key language skills — speaking, listening, reading, and writing — in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Whether you're learning for travel, work, family connections, or simply the enjoyment of speaking another language, this course gives you a strong foundation for continuing your Spanish learning journey with confidence.

Whether you're preparing for a holiday, learning for work, connecting with Spanish-speaking family or friends, or simply looking to develop a rewarding new skill, this course offers a practical and supportive introduction to the language.

Textbook & Resources
Students may use any edition of Aula Internacional 1, including Aula Internacional 1, Aula Internacional 1 Plus, or Aula Internacional 1 Plus Hybrid. The core content is broadly consistent across the editions, although the layout, page numbers and some wording may vary.
Purchasing the textbook is optional. It provides a useful companion to the course, allowing you to review class content, complete additional practice activities, and continue your learning between lessons. Your tutor will also provide supporting learning materials throughout the course, so students without the textbook will still be able to participate fully in class.
Students who choose to purchase a textbook may select whichever edition of Aula Internacional 1 is most readily available and affordable. Your tutor will explain any differences in page numbering during class.
We recommend waiting until your course has been confirmed (usually within three working days of the proposed start date) before purchasing a textbook. The textbook is not included in the enrolment fee.
Certificate of completion
Achievement Recognition
Students who attend at least 80% of the course will receive a Certificate of Attendance from Sydney Community College.
This certificate recognises your commitment to learning Spanish and can support your personal or professional development.
