Rose-Marie Hillier

Rose-Marie is a magazine journalist and editor specialising in decorating, design and architecture. Her publishing career spans more than 45 years and she is a former Editor of Australian House and Garden magazine, as well as a former book editor responsible for titles both in Sydney and in London.

As a social commentator and design journalist, Rose-Marie has reported on the design influences and trends both in Australia and overseas, has travelled widely and presented many decorating seminars to homemakers, students, architects and builders. Her greatest passion is colour and she is trained as a professional colour consultant.

Rose-Marie has been tutoring her interior design courses at SCC since 2013. Her decorating style is eclectic and she likes blending the refined with the quirky, the old with the new, and enjoys frequently moving things around and mixing things up - something her husband and son still can’t get used to.
