Michael Rayner
Mike Rayner has been a registered beekeeper for many years and enjoys sharing his passion with others, particularly new beekeepers. “Beekeeping is a fascinating hobby”, says Mike, “and the more you learn about these wonderful creatures, the more fascinating they are”.
Mike has been featured on Channel Nine’s “A Current Affair”, where he demonstrated the removal of a troublesome nest of bees from the wall of someone’s house. The program aired on June 9th 2017.
Mike mainly Keeps standard Langstroth hives but is experienced in other beekeeping methods such as Flow Hives, Warre and Top Bar hives. He also keeps native bees.
An active committee member of the North Shore Beekeepers Association, Mike volunteers at Open Days and other beekeeping functions run by the club.
