Alena Tsarkova

Alena graduated from the University of Western Sydney with a Bachelor of Visual Communication, Graphic Design. She now works in graphic design and professional brush lettering.

Alena enjoys the experience of teaching key brush pen skills to new learners. She believes that the basics are necessary to build confidence in the art of hand lettering. As a self-taught hand letterer and calligrapher, she knows exactly what it is like starting out in the practice and has a lot of expertise to pass on.

Alena is learning outcomes focussed, with small class sizes. Her teaching style make her classes at SCC colourful, practical and loads of creative fun. She is passionate about teaching this art to eager students, as she believes that writing with our hands is a skill that should never be replaced by a font/typeface.
