East Village Art House

East Village Art House

Arts and crafts have always been part of Heather's life, learning textile arts from her mother growing up between Perth and Broome, in The Kimberley region of West Australia.

Heather, followed her heart and began expanding her arts journey while living and working in Melbourne in the 90’s.  It all began with a drawing and painting course at RMIT, which led her to enrol is Fine Art.

It wasn’t until her young family moved to Tokyo, where she was invited to teach art at her children’s school, that she began to hone her teaching skills. Always open to learning new skills she learnt ceramics with a master in Japan,

Since returning after 6 years in Tokyo, she has lived and worked in Sydneys Inner West. Initially in Early Childhood where she enjoyed connecting children to their environment through art and gardening, until she decided it was time to bring all her skills and experiences together and opened East Village Art House in Sydney’s Inner west suburb of Balmain.

She now offers workshops in clay hand building, watercolour painting and various textile mediums when she is not running the children’s holiday and after school, arts programme.
