Want to build a career helping people and making a difference in your community? The Certificate II in Community Services (CHC22015) is a practical entry point into the community services sector, helping you develop the skills and confidence for entry-level opportunities across areas such as Youth Work, Disability and Aged Care.
It's also ideal if you're already working or volunteering in a community or not-for-profit organisation and want to build your skills and gain a nationally recognised qualification.
Flexible Learning That Fits Around You
The course is designed to make study manageable alongside work, family and other commitments.
Duration
Approximately 6 months, working through the qualification gradually one module at a time.
Weekly Commitment
Study includes a 2-hour online class each Tuesday evening, plus additional self-paced learning, assignments and practical projects completed in your own time.
How You Learn
Trainer-led learning, self-paced activities, projects and practical assessments — building real skills rather than relying only on theory.
Tutor Support
You'll have access to a dedicated tutor throughout the course, with regular opportunities to ask questions, receive feedback and get help when you need it.

Across the course you'll develop skills you can use in real community-service environments, including:
- Communicating effectively in health and community services
- Providing a first point of contact
- Working with diverse people
- Supporting the interests and rights of clients
- Working within a community development framework
- Managing your work and time
- Workplace wellbeing and safety
Government Subsidised Training
This course is subsidised by the NSW Government under Smart and Skilled, meaning eligible students only contribute part of the cost of their training.
Depending on your circumstances, your contribution could range from $0 to approximately $990, with fee-free training available for some eligible students. Payment plans are also available, with eligible students able to commence with an initial payment of $100.
