Understand the InDesign interface
Placing and working with image files
Work with the features in the InDesign design window
Select and work with tools & shortcuts
Create new single page and multiple page documents
Pages palette and master pages
Add and format text inside a document using a variety of techniques
Add graphics to a document
Create and work with layers
Create and work with tables
Working with colour modes for print and digital
Creating and working with style sheets
Creating and working with tables
Preflight, PDF and printing

Intended audience

Who is this Adobe InDesign course for?

This course is for anyone looking to develop their design skills, interested in or familiar with Adobe programs, or interested in creating digital artwork. Learners developing skills for design or communications careers. It tailors to those who want to work for magazines, advertising agencies, newspapers, book publishers and retail/catalogue companies as well as incorporate design, commercial printing and other leading-edge publishing environments into their current professions.

Basic competency with computers is assumed before enrolling, and proficiency in other Adobe software is helpful but not essential for successful completion of this course.

Course materials

Please bring to your class:

Your Own Laptop or Computer: A reliable device capable of running Adobe After Effects smoothly.
Subscription or Free Trial to Adobe InDesign: Ensure you have access to the software before your first session.
Optional: HDMI Cable: In case you would like to set up a dual monitor display to follow along with the instructor while working on your projects.
