Follow in the footsteps of some of the worlds greatest artists and learn how to play the guitar with other beginners in Sydney!
Our guitar for beginners course is a fun and relaxed atmosphere where you’ll get to grips with basic chords and rhythms and some easy popular songs and riffs. Our professional and experienced tutors are on hand with all the know-how and guidance to get you strumming away in no time.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, you will have explored concepts and techniques such as:
- Learned simple techniques for playing the guitar
- Performed a repertoire of simple, enjoyable pieces
- Developed and improved the skills of those who already play
Course content
During the course, participants will work with techniques and ideas such as:
- Basic music theory, rhythm strumming patterns and chords
- Playing techniques
- Read tablature
- Play popular songs - eg, Wild Thing, Knockin' on Heaven's Door, Come as You Are, Good Riddance (Time of Your Life), House of the Rising sun and more

Who is this guitar course for?
This course is for beginners. No previous knowledge of the guitar is necessary for this class.
