In this introductory aromatherapy course, you'll explore how essential oils affect your body and mind. Mastering blending techniques provides you with the groundwork to craft your own products.

For the practical part of this course, you'll learn to craft your own safe and plant-based aromatic home products using essential oils. Led by a seasoned and professional aromatherapist, this interactive course aims to provide you with a clear understanding of both the established and practical uses of essential oils.

This aromatherapy course will educate you about the claimed therapeutic properties of essential oils as well as what to look out for when purchasing your oils. You will explore how aromatherapy may have an impact on your physical and mental well-being, and how essential oils are commonly used to treat headaches, and muscle aches, ease anxiety, boost energy and more. You will also find out about the risks and dangers that you need to consider when using aromatherapy products to ensure the application is in a safe and controlled manner.

This aromatherapy course will cover common application methods and teach you how to mix and blend your products. During this hands-on class, you will create four individual blends to take home:

• Two 25ml oil blends that you can use as a rub or massage oil
• One room or pillow mist or facial toner
• One roll-on perfect for on-the-go use

• How essential oils are commonly used in aromatherapy
• The good and ugly: how to use and not use essential oils
• How the body and mind absorb those oils, what this means for our well-being, and how to use the knowledge to benefit yourself
• Basic essential oil chemistry to help you understand which oils to choose
• Mixing & blending rules
• A variety of application methods including diffuser, in the shower or bath, inhaling, rub and massage

Who is this Aromatherapy Course for?

This course is for beginners, or anyone with an interest in essential oils and how to use them safely. No prior experience is required.

• A range of essential and carrier oils for your blends
• All packaging
• Beginners Aromatherapy Course Handouts with a list of common essential oils and their health benefits and risks, formulas for different application methods, and recipes to try at home

Please note: If you have a particular essential oil you wish to use, please bring it along. Our tutor will bring a selection of essential oils to work with but is aware that there are hundreds and cannot provide for every preference.

What to bring to class

• A bag to transport your products home
• Your lunch. You may bring your lunch and keep it cool in our refrigerator or purchase it close by.

It is advised that sensitive individuals check reactivity by doing a skin patch test first. Essential oils must not be applied to the eyes. Essential oils are not to be applied in concentrated doses unless under the supervision of a trained health professional.
