What you'll learn
Learn to assemble, patch, and hand-stitch with our sewing short courses in Sydney!
Calling all textile lovers! Create your own textile heirloom piece using the art of textile collage, which is currently making a resurgence in craft circles.
Textile collage is a sustainable and mindful practice, inspired by mending and repair culture. In this hands-on course, you'll learn how to make something new using well-worn, pre-loved, and new fabrics.
With the guidance of your experienced tutor, you'll free up your creative process and learn the design and development process of this textile approach.
You'll use expressive hand-stitching and freehand mark-making techniques to create your own unique textile collage piece which can be framed as an artwork or turned into a cushion cover, a table runner, or a tote bag. It's the perfect opportunity to up-cycle and repurpose that fabric you love, but don't know what to do with!
Whether you're just starting out on your textile journey or want to develop your skills further - if you love the qualities of handmade cloth and hand-stitching - this course is for you.
