What you'll learn
Learn how to sing with our music & singing short courses in Sydney!
Our beginner singing lessons delve into fundamental voice production techniques within a group dynamic, aiming to cultivate vocal freedom and boost confidence in students' voice utilisation. Through this eight-week course, we merge practical exercises with technical insights to enhance your vocal prowess.
The initial four weeks concentrate on foundational techniques, while the subsequent four weeks emphasise performance skills. By the course's culmination, each student will showcase an individual piece of their choice. These sessions surpass mere singalongs, offering comprehensive vocal education akin to private lessons.
Each class includes technical and musical ideas for exploration and learning, provides an opportunity to ask questions about singing, offers practical application of class ideas, and involves singing songs in a group setting.

Carmel said: Luke explained the technical aspects of singing in simple terms allowing participants to develop their vocal ability. He created a supportive environment to enable each student to feel comfortable and confident singing solo. We all agreed a beginners choir might be a good follow on course to put our new found knowledge into practice.

Jason said: Good teacher, uses positive reinforcement well, good balance between practice and theory. Draws upon own experiences well to help students. Presentation of written materials might benefit from some polishing but are still appropriate and useful. Really enjoyed the class and would happily recommend.

Monica said: Loved this course. Went in thinking I could never sing in front of an audience but finished with a solo performance. Who would have thought it! Luke was a great teacher. Just the right mix of theory and practice and lots of fun. He made it non-threatening and encouraged all students to do their best and gave constructive feedback to each of us. He is a very generous person both with his time and with his knowledge. I would recommend this course for anyone who just loves to sing for the sake of it. The class thought it would be good to follow this with a choir just for beginners, nothing too serious, just a chance to practice and have some fun. I understand there is already a college choir but it is by audition only and seems to be classical. I'm looking for something a bit less formal. I hope the college takes on this suggestion. Luke said he would be prepared to lead it if there was enough interest and the college was happy to do it.
