What you'll learn
Learn DSLR videography with our DSLR and mirrorless video-making short course in Sydney.
Have you ever picked up your DSLR or mirrorless camera, excited to create cinematic video, only to be disappointed with the results? Or spent hours watching online tutorials that leave you more confused than confident? This instructor-led, hands-on videography course is designed to help you truly understand your camera and start producing professional-quality video.
In this practical course, you’ll learn how to unlock the full potential of DSLR and mirrorless cameras, from mastering manual settings to crafting visually compelling stories. With expert guidance and structured exercises, you’ll move beyond auto mode and gain confidence controlling exposure, focus, lighting, and sound.
Each session combines clear demonstrations with hands-on practice. You’ll complete real-world filming exercises such as interviews, product shots, and outdoor shoots, allowing you to apply your skills in realistic scenarios. Along the way, you’ll develop an understanding of visual storytelling, composition, and production workflows used by professional videographers.
You’ll also be introduced to post-production fundamentals, learning how to organise, edit, and enhance your footage using DaVinci Resolve. By the end of the course, you’ll have a strong foundation in both shooting and editing video, and the confidence to continue developing your videography skills independently.

Julia said: I enjoyed this course, and it’s great for beginners and amateur videographers. Our tutor Leo is amazing! He shared his knowledge with us and support us through whole course. He is always happy to help if there are any difficulties both in the technical part and in the theoretical one, or if you need help in the shooting process.

Honor said: Although I already had quite a bit of amateur experience using the DSLR for video and more professional experience using a DSLR for stills, this course took me to the next level in understanding videography. His teaching and approach was excellent and attentive. He explained complicated concepts really well with examples and reinforced them on the way. I will be able to use this experience directly to enhance the quality of the videos I do for work in my capacity as a communications professional when I do not have the budget for a professional.

Brandon said: It was a very informative course especially only being 2 1/2 hour classes. Really enjoyed learning about the fine details that are easily missed. I really hope that an intermediate or advanced course is added.
